Omron includes a chest transmitter belt with the wristwatch-style monitor. This transmitter sends data to the receiver on your wrist at a distance up to 98 feet (30 meters). The HR-100C is built with a backlight function for exercising after nightfall, and it also displays time of day and a daily reminder alarm feature. Also included is a mounting bracket that makes it easy to attach the watch receiver to most treadmills and bicycles and a soft, zippered storage case.

What is the Bioelectrical Impedance Method?
Bioelectrical Impedance (BI) is considered one of the most accurate and accessible methods of screening body fat. Muscles, blood vessels and bones are body tissues having a high water content that conduct electricity easily. Body fat is tissue that has little electric conductivity. The monitor sends an extremely weak electrical current through your body to determine the amount of fat tissue. The weak electrical current is not felt while operating the Body Fat Analyzer. The monitor is calculated by a formula that includes five factors; electric resistance, height, weight, age and gender.
What is visceral fat?
Visceral fat is located around the organs. Too much visceral fat is thought to be closely linked to increased level of fat in the bloodstream, which can lead to common conditions such as high cholesterol, cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Sedentary life style causes excess visceral fat, and exercise can reduce it quicker than subcutaneous fat (fat located under skin).
What is resting metabolism?

After reading several of the previous reviews, I decided to give this HR monitor a try. It was a great decision. I find myself working harder at the gym. I've always wetted the sensors per instructions and have yet to have a problem with it working. It works perfectly with the gym equipment! No more trying to hold the sensors while running on the treadmill. Yipee! It doesn't have all the features of more expensive monitors but for someone like me that just wants to stay in the correct zone for a great workout, it's perfect.

I purchased it a couple months ago and use it daily. I needed a basic heart rate monitor without all the fancy features.
It is easy to use and seems accurate all the time.
BTW I found out that all the work out equipment at the YMCA that I go to pick up the signal from chest strap, so I do not have to even wear the watch when I work out at Y.
Recommend it to everybody.

This is my first heart rate monitor, so I really don't have anything else to compare it to, but it works great! Will really help your training by keeping you in your target HR zone. Very easy to use. I was able to use it right away with very little set-up. It's a little complicated (not too bad) to set up the watch mode, and I really wouldn't use it as a watch. The heart rate mode is what you are using it for anyway, and that works great.

This Omron heart rate monitor does it all and does it simply. The others I have owned require the skills of a programmer to get the desired results. With this instrument you can have as many or as few functions as you wish with a minimum of fuss.

I was happy with the monitor. It's measurements were consistent and stable. I was surprised that it also was a wrist watch.
